They are native to the Western Ghats region in India and are widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. These mushrooms are also known by various names such as oyster mushrooms, tree oysters, and king oyster mushrooms.

They originate from the Malabar coast of India, which is how it got it’s original name, Malabar Coast Magic Mushrooms.
